Using milk trays like Lego bricks, PlayMo were able to use  3 different types of crates. Black = platforms, Grey= stairs, Green=moveable. PlayMo is designed to grow and adapt. People are encouraged to leave things behind and to add to the structure.

Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas are self-taught inflatable designers motivated by the love of public art and intervention. The artists have produced hundreds of inflatable sculptures and through their unique style and innovation have become internationally renowned for their work especially in the street-art movement, often using images of nature such as giant squids attacking cities.

Street artist Megx converted a bridge in Wuppertal, Germany into a giant Lego structure using colored panels that create the illusion of being the underside of Lego bricks. The bridge itself is part of the Wuppertal Bewegung e.V., an old train line that has been converted to a pedestrian and cycle path

Shining the Light on Urban Art

Luzinterruptus, is an anonymous artistic group, who carries out urban interventions in public spaces. They use light as a raw material and the dark as their canvas. The artists began to act on the streets of Madrid at the end of 2008 and had the simple idea of focusing people’s attention by shining light on problems that the artists found in the city and that seem to go unnoticed by the authorities and citizens.

In 2005 Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn started working together, making large artworks in unexpected places in public space. They are often described as muralists, but that isn’t quite accurate. Muralists typically paint a wall. Haas & Hahn paint whole buildings, squares, even a street.

The intention of the ten-day course, titled Marking the Forest, is to engage the students with the forest through the design and construction of a temporary timber structure. They created a structure entitled ‘The Amplifier’.
