Imagining Digbeth’s Future

In order to create a successful wayfinding route through the location of Digbeth, we have been working on two wayfinding options that would allow members of the public, exiting the HS2 station opposite Curzon Street Station, to find their way through Digbeth towards the Custard Factory while discovering the historic and quirky nature of the location.

In order to imagine the experience of the routes, we felt that it was important to sketch how the location could potentially look based on our current thoughts of our wayfinding proposals.

By sketching perspectives of places such as Fazeley Street and Floodgate Street, we have been able to begin to see which features of our ideas may work, and which features may not work. This has allowed us to begin to think about potential options to develop, re-brand and revive the area while maintaining the unique character of Digbeth.
