BHX MOD SOC MAP Glossary : Neo Classicism

Glossary sketch sheets

Neoclassicism is a western movement that originated in 18th century Rome that influenced many forms of art. It is a revival and reaction to classical styles specifically the styles of Baroque and Rococo. As a style it emphasises on elegance and grace, it achieves this by using simple geometry and having an uncluttered appearance.

Examples of Neoclassical Architecture include the White House and Birmingham Town Hall.
